On 26th Aug, GS housing successfully hosted the theme of "the clash of language and thought, wisdom and inspiration of collision" first "metal cup" debate in the world geological park ShiDu museum lecture hall.

The topic of positive side is "Choice is greater than effort", and the topic of negative side is "effort is greater than choice". Before the game, both sides of the humorous wonderful opening show won the scene warm applause. The players on the stage are full of confidence and the competition process is exciting. The pros and cons of the debaters with a very tacit understanding,and their witty remarks and extensive quotations brought the whole game to a climax one after another.
In the targeted questioning session, the debaters of both sides also responded calmly. In the part of concluding the speech, the two sides fought back one by one against the logical loopholes of their opponents, with clear ideas and citing classics. The scene was full of climax and applause.
Finally, Mr. Zhang Guiping, general manager of GS housing, made wonderful comments on the competition. He fully affirmed the clear thinking and excellent eloquence of the debaters on both sides, and expounded his views on the debate topic of this debate competition. He said "There is no fixed answer to the proposition 'choice is greater than effort' or 'effort is greater than choice'. They complement each other. I believe that effort is a necessity for success, but we should know that we should make targeted efforts and strive towards the goal we choose. If we make the right choice and make more efforts, we believe that the result will be satisfactory."
