Emergency integrated house – Aid to Tonga resettlement housing project

At 10 am on February 15, 2022, 200 set integrated prefabricated houses quickly built by GS Housing Group were used to accommodate local disaster victims.

After the Tonga volcano erupted on January 15, the Chinese government paid close attention and the Chinese people felt the same. President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolences to the King of Tonga as soon as possible, and China delivered aid materials to Tonga, becoming the first country in the world to provide aid to Tonga. It is reported that China allocated drinking water, food, generators, water pumps, first aid kits, integrated prefabricated houses, tractors and other disaster relief materials and equipment that the Tongan people are looking forward to according to the needs of Tonga. Some of them were transported to Tonga by Chinese military aircraft, and the rest were delivered to the most needed places in Tonga by Chinese warships in a timely manner.

At 12:00 on January 24, after receiving the task from the Ministry of Commerce and China Construction Technology Group to provide 200 integrated prefabricated houses to Tonga, GS Housing responded quickly and immediately formed a project team to assist Tonga. The team members raced against time and worked day and night to complete the manufacturing and construction of all 200 integrated porta cabin houses by 22:00 on January 26, ensuring that all the modular houses arrived at a port in Guangzhou for assembly, storage and delivery at 12:00 noon on January 27

GS Housing Aid Tonga Project Team had been considering in detail how integrated houses could cope with the complex usage environment during disaster relief and assistance, and arranged for the team to conduct optimized design research, select flexible frame structures, and optimize pollution-resistant electrostatic powder spraying technology and wall surface baking paint technology to ensure that the houses have higher building stability and better heat resistance, moisture resistance, and corrosion resistance.
